Description
Berad — the Moroccan teapot — returns in a second edition, caught mid-ceremony at a street-side pause. Pilar Olivero's photograph finds a vivid pink circular table, a silver tray, traditional glasses, and the berad itself, with vintage cars and market stalls sunlit in the background. Look closely: the word BERAD appears on a license plate in the scene, as if the street recognized itself. A companion to Berad 1, this image holds hospitality in motion — tea poured between worlds.
On dark brown oversized 260g cotton, dual-size prints carry Arabic calligraphy overlaid on the photograph, echoing the earth tones of Moroccan souks. Katagami screen printing and hand embroidery translate Pilar's 35mm archive into wearable surface; notebook fragments in French, Arabic, and Spanish screen-print alongside. Three creators — Argentina, Chile, Morocco — based in Paris, finish each piece by hand, so no two tees share exactly the same gesture of thread or ink.
To wear Berad 2 is to pause without leaving the street: the ceremony travels with you, a small act of gathering in a garment built for slowness. The brown base remembers the souk floor; the license plate winks — sometimes the city names what you came to find.
