AMAZIGH T-SHIRT

Casa — home. Pilar Olivero's photograph stacks two worlds on one frame: above, a reed-and-wood beach shelter on sand with ocean beyond; below, a black-and-white close-up of seaweed where Tifinagh script — the living alphabet of Amazigh people — is overlaid across living matter. Indigenous North African culture meets coastal shelter in a single analog image from her 35mm archive. Home is both the structure on the shore and the rootedness written in script on seaweed — shelter and belonging braided together in one sunlit frame.

This is the only Aslona design that combines two motifs on one garment. Katagami paper stencils carry both prints onto oversized cream cotton; French text — Peu de choses poussent dans le sable… — screenprints above the images. Hand-embroidered borders frame what three Paris-based creators — from Argentina, Chile, and Morocco — assembled as cultural mixing made cloth. Tifinagh characters remain visible on the fabric, script on cotton as living language on living material. Trilingual notebook text in Arabic, French, and Spanish completes the piece.

Wearing the Amazigh tee means carrying home as idea and image. Cream cotton holds both shelter and script against your skin — rootedness you can move with through any city. Borders become porous when culture is worn, not only remembered.
